In fall 2020, we will focus primarily on the underlying logic for AI, including inference and causality. The works of Judea Pearl will be included.
Graph theory forms a key component of algorithms for GOFAI (good, old-fashioned AI), neural networks and deep learning, and quantum computing, and so will be a major component of the fall.
Also, background material for linear algebra will be covered as needed.
We aim to deepen the introductory knowledge of public philosophy and to be able to utilize the framework of public philosophy in line with the analysis, understanding and resolution of specific social issues.
Public philosophy is not necessary only in political and administrative situations, it is necessary and useful in every field (company, region, education, medical care, NPO, NGO etc) where individuals and groups exist is there. In the future, we strongly recommend students who have intention and possibility to bear the heavy responsibility to press forced biting judgment in a situations such as conflict , dilemma and unexpect.

A large part of the world which we live in is constructed via language-based cognition. What is the relation between mind and language? How does this relation mature through cognitive development and change over years? We will try to answer these questions through an interdisciplinary approach combining language acquisition/teaching research, linguistic typology, and cognitive science.
We are focusing on the sports science in this academic project. Those who will write a master dissertation on the sports science and any of related area should take this academic project. Students should learn academic skills and knowledge on this area through the project by their own presentation and discussion. Then, we hope students make their academic presentation at the conference, symposium etc. in master program.
In this project, each time, the students will introduce their research methodologies by rotation. Then, teachers and students will make discussion on the topics.

In this increasingly diverse world, there is a clear need for advanced communicative competence. In this project, we will explore the mechanism of second language acquisition and foreign language teaching through a mixed-methods, qualitative and quantitative approach with the aim of utilized-focused language learning and research. In particular, we will focus on language learning in relation to various cultural perspectives, including cognitive linguistics and pragmatics as they pertain to living in and creating a multilingual and multicultural society

In principle, students from the Advanced Bioscience Research group or Master course students belonging to the Biological Study Group should take both Advanced life science A and B. Both are carried out in parallel, so please be sure to take both courses.
The purpose of this class was to acquire presentation skills suitable for master's graduates and a wide range of knowledge beyond the field related to life science and to strengthen collaboration laterally among bio-based Master course students. Through this process, all the participants deepen their knowledge and create a situation where they can work toward their respective research with a sense of unity.
