CompMusic: Comparative and computational musicology (1)
In this class, students are expected to study about basic statistics by analyzing data empirically. Basic techniques such as data collection, statistical analysis and presentation are introduced.
Lectures include (1) description of data such as average, variance and correlation, (2) basics of probability theories such as population and samples, stochastic distributions and sample distributions, and (3) statistical models such as regression analysis and analysis of variance.
Lecturers might change contents of syllabus.
Artificial intelligence may have a great impact on society in the future. In order to understand capabilities and limits of artificial intelligence, it is necessary to understand computers as its foundation.
In the first half of this course, we learn fundamental knowledge of practical usage of computers and networks in SFC. In the second half, we learn programming skills which are necessary to take advantage of computers.
After this course, you will be able to learn advanced programming skills in /Fundamentals of Information Technology 2/.
With the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, sports promotion is accelerating in Japan. On the other hand, in recent years, the implementation rate of sports for the people has been declining, and it is not an environment in which everyone can enjoy sports. In order to promote sports, a wide range of knowledge is required from individual aspects such as mental and physical structure to environmental aspects such as the social and cultural background surrounding sports and the management of sports organizations. In this course, you will learn about issues in promoting sports, thinking methods for solving those issues, and an overview of social implementations. In this course, discussions and group work will be held as needed in order to gain diverse values and perspectives through communication with others and sports experiences.
This class is intended for students who aim to become environmental design professionals, focusing on architectural design, urban design, and landscape design. And this class aims to help them acquire digital skills such as architectural drawing, 3D modeling, and CG perspective.
Students will learn how to create 2D drawings and 3D modeling using architectural 3D modeling software called Rhinoceros, how to create photorealistic architectural CG using the Unity game engine, and how to use Illustrator to create layouts using the grid system.
This class is designed for students to participate in actual planning and construction of the landscape of SBC (Student Build Campus) . Students will learn the basic and practical landscape design though the practice of field work, site analysis, design, construction and maintenance on the site.
