Coaching and life skills
From the psychological perspective, this course will explore how to establish better relationships among athletes for the sake of performance-enhancing and seeking the victories. Sports enable people not only to motivate gaining the victories, but also to bring up their own humanities.
The purpose of this course is to provide opportunities with students to collect beneficial data or results through internship within or outside of Japan that is related to student’s research theme. Students are required to submit a "Research/Internship Plan" before their internship begins. Students’plans are reviewed and only students who received an approval on their plans will be allowed to register this course in the following semester. Detail information about application procedure and duration of internship will be announced on the Keio Student Website. Internship should be conducted during spring or summer break. Students must select a faculty member as an advisor for their Internship. Students are expected to receive advice from their advisors for the duration of three hours or more in advance. The actual duration of Internship should be at least seventy hours. In principle, students’advisors should be involved in a project/activity/events/work that students will participate in as their internship. Students cannot participate in an internship program which is not related to their research themes. Students who have completed their internship must submit the report. Detail information about assignment will be announced on the Keio Student Website. Please check the web site frequently.

This architectural studio is open to master course students who have already finished taking the basic studio courses.
Students will research several masterpieces of museums in the world through functional and spatial/ geometrical analysis.
Students will then develop a proposal for a museum in Fujisawa-city using the concepts found in the former analysis.
Approach to environmental issues is based on science. It is necessary to understand and analyze environmental data scientifically in order to formulate a plan on environmental protection measures. In this course, students will be required to accurately understand the mechanism of environmental impact, acquire the ability to analyze environmental data including ITC technology, and learn the scientific viewpoints and ideas on environmental data and environmental protection measures, through basic environmental measurements and experiments.
The main objectives of this course are not only to get stronger but to understand an outlook on a world of diversity of the game and the intention of a move played and to learn what is a deed to conceive which is related to a theory of strategy by practising its logicalness and conceptual power.
If you attach a weight to creativity which is a basic concept of the curriculum, this course would be suitable enough to learn simply not only how to play a game also how to create by practising the game.
In this course, we will examine the Japanese governance mechanism including the Diet, both central and local governments.
Sharing the professor's experience as a lawmaker and a bureaucrat, we will discuss how to improve Japan's policy making process.
Furthermore, students are expected to design the future society in which not only government sector but also NPOs/NGOs and private companies share more active role in the field of public policies.
Second Language Acquisition, Cross-cultural Communication and Foreign Language Education
In this seminar, students will discuss and explore the process of second language learning and teaching through studying textbooks and research articles. Students will learn how to conduct research such as how to develop research themes and research questions, how to design research, and data analysis, as well as how to write a research paper. Students will work on their individual studies, giving each other feedback in weekly discussions. This lab has 20-25 students including graduate students, and most of them have had experience living or studying abroad and are proficient speakers of English.
Discussions can be conducted in both English and Japanese, and I am hopeful that both Japanese and international students can improve English and Japanese proficiency respectively by being in this seminar. We have guest speakers and lectures have been given in English most of the time.
Reference books will be recommended for the new students.
