This skill-course prepares you to participate in a German course at a university in German-speaking areas during the spring holidays. It will help you choose and apply for a university or course close to your field of study, as well as prepare for the fieldwork you will be carrying out during your stay. This skill-course is not necessarily linked to your stay in German-speaking areas in spring of 2024; you can also take it if you plan to travel at a later date.
In this course we will discuss current social issues in Japan and Germany with Japanese studies students at the University of Trier.
Participants in this bilingual project (working languages are German and Japanese) deal with topics that they and their partners choose at the beginning of the course, both in class and in several video conferences.
At the end of the project, bilingual Power Point presentations will be created and all participants will discuss the project topics together.
In this seminar, we will learn about Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We will read various texts, watch videos and eventually hold talks with experts. There will also be an opportunity to work with students of Trier University in Germany (online collaboration: exchange, discussion, common presentations). It is expected that the participants will also meet the students from Trier University outside the regular class for discussions and for the preparation of presentations.

In diesem Contentskurs lesen wir biblischen Text und Literatur gemeinsam und diskutieren wir auch dabei über Symbole, Metapher oder auch Allegorien, die im Text auftauchen. Das Ziel von diesem Kurs ist es, literarische Formulierungen sowie Wortschätze zu verstehen und literarische Texte aus dem wissenschaftlichen Aspekt zu analysieren und interpretieren.

In this course, we will read biblical texts and literary works together and discuss the symbols, metaphors, and allegories that appear in the text. For example, if one is not familiar with "wine" as a religious symbol, literary texts cannot be properly understood. The goal of this course is to understand literary expressions as well as vocabulary and to analyze and interpret literary texts from a scholarly perspective.

This course is for beginners at A1 level. Students will learn to understand simple and easy situations in daily life and be able to communicate with French speakers on limited topics and at a slow pace. In this course, we use Agenda 1 (Hachette) as our textbook. This book aims at promoting collaborative work through task-based learning. This Spring semester will cover from Jour 1 to Jour 5 (“jour” means lesson).
