Course Summary

The GIGA seminar will promote understanding of various macroeconomic issues. The first half of the course will focus on reading short articles on various topics, students' presentation and discussions. The topics will depend on the content of recent articles and could cover climate change, SDGs, poverty and debt problems in developing countries, monetary policy, relation between monetary and fiscal policy, ESG investment, digital currency, etc. The second half of the course will focus on students' presentation of term papers and discussions. Group work will be conducted if the number of students is large enough.
