Bilingualism and Heritage Languages
This seminar will introduce the main concepts of bilingual education
Including its types, factors and variables. We will analyze bilingual education policies and practices in Spanish speaking societies in the Americas, Spain and Japan. The students will develop an understanding of bilingual education and analyze the language policies and practices to promote language maintenance and revitalization of the heritage language among ethnic minorities.
