Course Summary

A concept is an important tool to organize thoughts, to communicate between people from different areas, to anchor findings when doing research, and to explain the issues. Students can use concepts as tools to do research or examine a concept for their research. The course will go over a number of key concepts of Human Security, such as Poverty, Freedom, and Risk), and other concepts related to important issues in people’s life and everyday life, such as Family, Choices, Losses)
The students are required to actively engage in in-class exercises to practice their conceptual thinking and writing.
