Course Summary

The seminar will consist of two parts. The first half will be based on reading short articles on various economics-related issues and students' presentation and discussions. If time allows, we may try debate on recent topics. The topics of short articles vary depending on Finance & Development and IMF blogs, but may cover US economy, China's economy, green recovery and climate change, COVID-19 pandemic, emerging market economies' debt problems and poverty, DX and digital economy. The second half will be based on students' presentation on the term paper. The first half will be conducted mainly on a face to face format while the latter half will be conduced mainly using an online format.
