Course Summary

Modular polyketide synthase (PKSs) synthesize the core structures of diverse natural products, including antibiotics and immunosuppressants. However, since modular PKSs are huge enzyme, their entire protein structures have not yet determined. Here, by first predicting the structure of the protein using AlphaFold2, we will confirm how the structural difference occurs in all PKSs whose three-dimensional structure has been determined. In addition, we will analyze the expression and function of proteins that visualize the structure.
