Course Summary

This class is for design students. You will learn graphic design and product design from design examples from the 1960s taken up in class. And learn the geometry that led to the advantages of those designs.

This class presents Buckminster Fuller's view of the world through these. Fuller is best known as the inventor of such words as "Spaceship Earth" and "synergy." This class provides an opportunity to learn practically the inventions related to "earth system design" that he practiced. This class provides an opportunity to learn the technical background of inventions. For that reason, this is a class that integrates fine art and mathematics. This class as well introduces his pioneering ideas about the global environment. But books tells you about Fuller's ideological background. In this class, you will learn about his inventions that cannot be understood from books while assembling paper craft models. In this way, you can learn his engineering of world maps and ultralight structures devised to operate "Spaceship Earth". At the same time, I will introduce related technologies that I have been involved in. It's an improvement over Fuller's technique. In this way, you will acquire a design source that will solve the global problems that you are currently facing.
