Course Summary

We will focus on economic policy. In particular, our focus is 1) industrial policy, ii) trade policy, and iii) national security policy. After studying industrial and trade policies, we will measure the effectiveness of those policies by looking at empirical studies. Then, we will be studying what national security policy is, what kind of policy tools are being used globally. As an example, we will analyze Japanese economic policies regarding semiconductors.
