The theme of this research seminar is "mathematics and computer" in a broad sense. We focus on "visualization" and "machine learning", and study visual expressions based on mathematical principles.
In this semester, we will run a reading seminar where every student reads, writes and contributes to the discussion. The topics depends on students' background and interests, but they will probably be about computer graphics, generative art, and computer simulation from the viewpoint of mathematics. Candidates are References 1, 3, 5 and 6, but things are flexible. Books to be read will be determined in the first meeting. (If you are interested in Ref.6, please read Ref.4 and 5 in the summer break.)
There may be lectures on background materials and relevant topics by guest lecturers.
