Course Summary

This studio is intended for students taking the beginning stages of architectural design.

After researching the essence of the surrounding environment, students would design a house as a part of the city. The students would create a concrete model of a real site, including the surrounding environment, conduct a three-dimensional study and analysis, and then design a house using the results of the study.

The assignments are as follows;
(1) Establish the range of the site + surrounding environment that may affect the house, and observe it carefully.
(2) Analyze and consider the site as a three-dimensional object through the process of making a model by hand.
(3) Design a house using the learning from the town obtained through the model.
