Course Summary

Purpose of Course:

A major focus of the class is on learning to parse and discuss molecular biology papers published in Cell, Nature, Genes & Development etc.

Topics covered are:
(1) Gene identification (basics of molecular biology)
(2) Gene expression
(3) Preparation of recombinant proteins
(4) Genes and their regulatory proteins
(5) Non-coding RNAs
(6) Applications of Biotechnology

The course will also involve seminars to be supervised by guest professors.
