The importance of language communication is increasing when globalization goes on and people who has different cultural background and sense of values work, learn and live together. In these days, we have to acquire communicative language competence and intercultural competence in order to understand each other.
The goal of this class is to consider how do we design culture and language learning environment to promote these competencies through theoretical research and workshop design.

This course aims to learn regional studies of the former USSR/ CIS focusing on the strategic topics. Please keep in mind that this course will be mainly related to the affairs of former USSR / CIS and those with Europe. This course will be composed by lecturers, discussions, and presentations by students. Student’s active participations are required. I would like to include the student’s interests into the lectures, so the requests are always welcome.
All students must attend at the first class, because we will decide the schedule of the personal presentation and I would like hear the student’s interests. In addition, I would like to deal with the new movement in the region and the world, so the syllabus would be changed flexibly according to explain the new situations.

In this class, in the first half of the class, you will learn both "thinking technique" and "collaborating technique" based on some issues (future themes). From the middle of the class to the latter half of the class, we will take on the challenge of developing and implementing future product development and building a sustainable business model with Fujiyoshida City in Yamanashi Prefecture in mind.
This course is designed to introduce students to the main theoretical and conceptual issues in the field of Comparative Politics. It offers students a broad view of the selected themes, concepts and approaches that characterize the field, as well as an appreciation of how the field has evolved over time.
In this class, we will learn linguistic typology, which practices cross-linguistic comparison and pursues generalizations from there. Specifically we focus on our knowledge of grammatical constructions, and explore the knowledge / strategies employed in the communication process in different languages.

This course is designed for undergraduate students as an introduction to the history of Chinese politics and society in the 19th and 20th century. Today’s Chinese politics and social problems often have their roots in the 19th and 20th century. What’s the relationship of the state and society? How did the forming of modern state change the society and how did the characteristics of society shape the
ways of national construction? Focusing on such questions, this course will introduce the major 4 parts of modern and contemporary Chinese history(Imperial China, Republic of China, China in the Mao era, and China after Mao). With regard to each part, the general trend of history, new research perspectives, and recent research focus will be introduced.
This course is designed for intermediate learners(who have finished Korean Intensive 2) to improve their speaking skill.
This course aims to achieve at a higher level of Korean through listening and reading comprehension training for learners who are above intermediate to upper-intermediate level.
In order to enroll to Intensive 2, you have to pass Intensive 1 or Basic 2. Intensive 2 equips students with grammar specially the prefixes and day to day conversation. Students are expected to be able to prepare a descriptive presentation and to be able to discuss in simple bahasa Indonesia.
This course is designed for intermediate learners(who have finished Korean Intensive 2) to improve their speaking skill.
