    The demand for skilled labors that are able to comprehend Chinese language grows steadily with the remarkable economic development in China. In order to respond to the social needs, The Chinese language test (Chuken) and the new HSK test have also been gradually standardized over recent years.
    In this course, students, who have no previous knowledge on the Chinese language test (Chuken) and the new HSK test, are expected to have a thorough understanding on different types of questions asked as well as the tendency of the tests through various kinds of exercise. Furthermore, the grammatical inaccuracies that commonly seen in students whose native language is Japanese will be addressed and the corresponding adequate grammars are to be explained in details in this course. In the meanwhile, we will also conduct some exercises using course materials and short videos intended to improve your Chinese listening skills. Through this kind of systematic learning, we aim to significantly improve your overall Chinese language skills over the semester.

    The text to be used is a no-fiction work titled "I am Fan Yusu", which is highly regarded as a representative work of " Migrant workers' literature”.
    The migrant workers who have supported China's rapid economic growth, and their destinies reflect the aspects and contradictions of contemporary Chinese society. For a long time, they have been the silent majority, but in recent years, a number of outstanding authors have emerged from among them and are now attracting attention.
    The author of " I am Fan Yusu " describes her personal history and the fate of her family, but it also gives us a realistic insight into contemporary Chinese history and society.
    However, the main purpose of the class is to improve your reading comprehension of Chinese. First, read the text carefully and savor the powerful and humorous words.

In this class, we are going to use the documents about China’s foreign policy in 1950’s~90’.
    But on the other hand, the main purpose of this class is to increase Chines skill by using papers about China’s foreign policy written in Chinese.

    In this course, we will discuss the basic knowledge of Chinese classics and Chinese literary style by translating Chinese into Japanese from Chinese classic texts. We hope that students could understand the ideologies of Chinese traditional culture from the Chinese sage so as to enhance their characters and personalities.
     Chinese classics is not only Chinese local language. But also, a common language that was highly accepted as a high-end culture in East Asia regions, including Japan, Korea, Ryukyu and Vietnam. Just like Latin language. Therefore, we could hence able to learn numerous valuable knowledge through studying it.
