Students learn academic writing structures and techniques to enable them to successfully write logical, well considered essays about relevant global issues in English. We focus on the five-paragraph essay format which includes: the introductory paragraph, three body paragraphs and a concluding paragraph. Special attention is given to writing convincing thesis statements and research questions. Students are also introduced to public speaking and learn how to suitably address groups, and to logically structure presentations in line with their research topics for their essay writing. Subject to approval, students choose their own topics: the only stipulation is that all topics must have some connection to relevant global issues and specific reference must be made the United Nation’s Sustainable Developments Goals.
Content can include:

• Examples of bad and good practices and processes
• Societal problems.
• Global and Domestic Issues
This class is suitable for students who are preparing to enter corporate life after graduation. Students will be introduced to various important aspects of organizations and up-to-date, relevant business issues. In addition, there are ample opportunities to exercise critical thinking by doing case studies in small groups. Although this class falls under writing class category, students will be able to improve reading, speaking, and presenting skills as well. Each class consists of knowledge building through lecture and reading, discussion for case studies, and presentation of the solutions.
Listening Workshop II
In this class you will listen to a variety of materials (podcasts, music, stories, news, etc.) and answer simple questions about them. You will work at your own pace. There will also be optional interviews with the teacher for added speaking practice. Although this class has a live part, it can also be taken on-demand.
デバイス，ソフトウェアを問わず，モノ創りの基本は，発想・設計（Plan），プロトタイピング・計測（Do），評価・分析（Check），処置・改善（Act）を繰り返す螺旋状のプロセス（PDCA cycle）を実施し，完成度を高めることにあります．すなわち「試行錯誤」の実践です．この科目では，ある程度の「発想→プロトタイピング」の経験を積んだ学生を対象に，次回の発想・設計プロセスに繋がる「評価→改善」に重点を置き，モノ創りのプロセスを実践的に議論します．講義・演習は，3〜5セットを1クールとし，3〜4テーマ（調整中）によるオムニバス形式で進行します．各クール毎の自己レビュー，相互レビューとディスカッションを通して，自己表現手法と評価方法（質的考察力，量的考察力）の習得を目指します．
イタリア語ベーシック２は、ベーシック１と同じく、日本人とイタリア人の２名の講師が週2回の授業を交互に担当し、主に日本人講師が基本事項や文法の説明を行い、イタリア人講師がその応用練習をします。さまざまなシチュエーションからなる会話を中心としたテキストを用いながら、イタリア語の文法と会話の基礎をさらに固めていきます。また、ある程度まとまった量の文章を読む練習なども行います。文法事項としては、再帰動詞と補助動詞の直説法現在形、動詞の直説法近過去、半過去、未来形、そして命令法などを学びます。
⾝体知，および感性に関する“新しい科学の模索”を議論する授業である．従来は、⾝体運動の客観的計測（動きの計測、⽣化学データの計測等）に基づいて、⾝体を客観的に描写・記述・可視化することを⽬的とする“科学”が主流であった．しかし、その⽅法論では扱うことができない重要側⾯がひとつある．⾝体と、本⼈の意識・思考・⾔葉の関係である．本講義では、⾝体と⾔葉の関係を研究の俎上に載せる⽅法論として、認知科学的な⽅法論―メタ認知―を紹介し、⾝体知を科学する学問のあり⽅を模索的に議論する．これは、広い意味でいえば、⼈⼯知能が⻑年試みては未だ達成できていない“暗黙知”にメスを⼊れる研究的試みでもある．学⽣各⾃が⾝体の探究に関する例題を持ち、実践的に⾝体と⾔葉の関係を探究・分析・議論する形式で授業を⾏いたい．
The goal of this class is to enable students to explain Japanese pop culture, food, and customs in their own words. In particular, we will compare Japan's "image" in other countries with actual conditions in Japan. Students will prepare presentation scripts on familiar topics and record presentations.

In this class we will focus on developing your confidence in speaking English. Weekly listening and speaking tasks are designed to enhance your English and communication skills. Speaking tasks will include pair and group discussions, role-plays and presentations.
