Course Summary

This Spanish Intensive 2 is a continuation of Intensive 1 and Basic 2, and corresponds to the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). We aim to develop sufficient capacity to communicate in everyday situations. The content of the A2 level is defined as follows:
(1) Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
(2) Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
(3) Can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

By carrying out eight tasks using Spanish and through the examination of our own foreign-language learning process, we will attach great importance to your development and growth as a learner who takes responsibility of his/her own learning, i.e. as a learner who not only learns Spanish, but also learns ‘how to learn.’

In grammatical terms, Spanish Intensive 2 entails learning the different forms to talk about the past, and distinguish their use depending on the context. Students are advised to secure sufficient studying time outside the class.
