Course Summary

China has overtaken Japan as world's second largest economy, with rising influences around the world. However, China still remains a developing country facing many imminent challenges like social inequality and environmental pollution. This seminar aims to understand the social transformation of modern and contemporary China from historical and sociological perspectives.
