Corporate Finance and Entrepreneurship
"Corporate Finance and Entrepreneurship"
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to start a business or launch a new business within a company. This requires a broad understanding of business in general. Since entrepreneurs are also managers, they need to understand general management in a way that allows them to cross-skewer various areas such as financial strategy (fundraising), accounting, marketing, product development, management organization, human resource strategy, and management strategy. The supervisors specialize in corporate finance and venture business, so they can provide specialized guidance in those areas, but students are expected to actively learn about other areas to understand the overall picture of corporate management and entrepreneurship.
For now, the spring semester will be spent working with the CEO of the company in question on fundraising and marketing strategies for the actual newly established startup company.
