Course Summary

This special research project challenges the biology and neuroscience of cutaneous and somatosensory perception from the viewpoints of sensor engineering and cognitive science. By conducting laboratory experiments with students' own hands, students will conduct an advanced study of the research area at hand, which consists of dermatology, physical science, neuroscience, and cognitive science. After taking this class, we wish students to learn research methodologies in haptic and cognitive neurosciences with dermatological sciences for finishing students' graduation research projects (for both grad and undergrad students).

Students with research interests in neuroscience or in haptic science, We welcome students who are interested in Piezo channel study, the recipient of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, or students who have the ambition and spirit to eventually receive the Nobel Prize.
