Course Summary

In this project, we will conduct research on the development of assessments to identify the causes of children’s poor school performance. Conventional achievement tests have tended to be used to uniformly measure each child and rank them within a class, or to score and grasp their level of understanding of each unit. In reality, however, there is great diversity in children's learning. This project explores the development of assessments that will allow teachers to visualize children's difficulties in learning from multiple perspectives. The majority of activities will be conducted in person, but online classes will be used as needed and appropriate. The ultimate goal will be for groups to develop assessments for upper elementary and middle school students. The final session will be presented in the classroom.
