In this special research project, we will challenge the biology and neuroscience of skin sensation from the viewpoints of sensor engineering and cognitive science. We will deepen the latest research findings in dermatology, neuroscience, and cognitive science, and conduct research practice using them. The project aims to conduct biological, neuroscience, sensor engineering, and cognitive science research on the perception and cognition of cutaneous sensations in living organisms, to acquire data collection and analysis methods, and to conduct new research in cognitive and perceptual science.
After taking this class, we wish students to learn research methodologies in haptic and cognitive neurosciences with dermatological sciences for finishing students' graduation research projects (for both grad and undergrad students).
