Course Summary

This study group is based on the psychoanalytic worldview discovered by Sigmund Freud. Although psychoanalysis is essentially a method of clinical practice, the SFC's curriculum does not aim to train for clinicians. Therefore, this study group aims at 'psychoanalysis as liberal arts.' One of the two study groups for psychoanalysis, the study group for Psychoanalysis and Culture―Applied psychoamalysis for cultural issues― deals with especially cultural topics such as society, subculture, education, art, literature etc. Students themselves actively present literature and research progress based on their own topics of interest and explore the nature of human nature through group discussions.
