Course Summary

The aim of this course is to gain 'awareness' of the language people use and learn casually and to link this to better communication and language learning. Therefore, through participation in language activities (e.g. language use, language learning) in Japanese and other languages, participants find out and analyse problems and issues from their own daily and non-regular use of the various languages and aim to develop new language activities and propositions. Consequently, lessons, including fieldwork outside of class time, focus on how to formulate questions about a language and how to investigate a language.
