▽Project Introduction:
Our project aims to connect SFC and its surrounding communities, creating a more lively environment around the university.
We focus on four major activities.
1) “Minna no Shokudo” (みんなの食堂), an event aimed at “raising children in the community as a third place through multi-generational communication” and “fostering a knowledge about the basis of life” in the area surrounding SFC, is held face-to-face for elementary school students and local residents. We were especially involved in creating a website and opening a stall. We also plan collaborative products and sell them at the event with “農家レストランいぶき” (“Nohka Restaraunt Ibuki”, a local restaurant).

This project is working on the community revitalization achieved through education. We are doing many activities with junior high school students by collaborating with different kinds of people in the region, such as teachers and local officials. Specifically, we plan and manage programs that include elements of cross-cultural exchange and regional understanding, and provide learning support to improve basic academic ability. Our field is Kaida Highlands in Kiso city, Nagano prefecture, and was selected as one of the most beautiful villages in Japan”. This summer, we made a project in which junior high school students have an interview with adults who are active in various fields.
Through MANABIBA (learning support), we are not only supporting self-study but also trying to deepen mutual understanding through lectures and individual learning consultations by using online tools. Furthermore, We aim to make our activities loved by the community by listening to their needs and communicating well with local people such as the town office, school teachers, and parents.

Kids Project
This project was launched in September 2019. We target children up to elementary school age, andvisit an elementary school as a student volunteer, with the vision of “A society where each child can realize their identity, what they love, and be able to express their strengths.”
Our project members go to elementary schools several times a week as “student volunteers” and share and discuss what we felt during our activities as a “student volunteer”. In elementary schools,we mainly support the teachers and help the children learn as student volunteers.
We think of student volunteers not only as steps to become teachers, but also as people who are involved in the school site with their own intentions. ■オコメンプロジェクト
*********
▽Project Introduction: In the Okomen Project, students take the initiative in growing rice with the help of the local community around SFC. Although SFC has been in existence for more than 30 years, there has not been much interaction with the people in the communities surrounding the campus, such as Endo and Goshomi. This project aims to make it commonplace for students to go outside the campus before and after classes to move around and interact with people in the community. The project also aims to encourage local residents to take an interest in the campus and build a relationship where both parties can interact and make suggestions to improve both the local community and the university. In FY2023, the second year since its inception and the first year of the project, rice harvesting was offered as a supplement to classes, harvested rice was sold at the All-University Expo, and served in the school cafeteria. If you are interested not only in rice paddies, but also in community, agriculture, food, community, and education, why don't you join us and work together in the area surrounding SFC?
▽Number of Positions: 2 individuals.
▽Recruitment Criteria: Rice cultivation is a year-round endeavor. It is a condition that applicants have the enthusiasm and commitment to continue their involvement in the project during both the spring and fall semesters of the next academic year.

■オーダーメイドコミュニティ(Order Made Community)
Order Made Community is a "community" where people who are engaged in "made-to-order" activities gather in the sense that each member has a base and conducts research.
"Establishment of individuals is essential. However, there is a limit without belonging to the group. It was started by the gathering of members who were active individually based on the idea of Professor Hasebe.
An environment where each person can achieve what he or she wants to do with all his might. In addition, we are working every day aiming to create an environment where each of us can support and enhance each other so that we can move forward.
The main activities are progress reports on each research and workshops that are likened to the research contents during the sub-seminars set up after class. We will carry out flexible activities according to the members of each semester and their research contents.
