Seven teachers from CB program take charge in this course.
Hamada coordinate the course and other teachers give two classes of lectures, workshops or groupworks to introduce advanced research method of their professional area.
In this course, the fundamental principle, theory, methods required to pursue research in information and network field are lectured. By taking this course, students acquire the fundamental theory and technique required in the focused area.
In each week, we will invite IAB scientists, Keio Ph. D students as well as two or three guest speakers, and discuss each topic provided by the speakers. Through this class, students aim to establish their “conceptual frameworks” in modern biology: strategy and the strategic way of thinking.
This course aims to understand the most advanced researches of the Graduate Project on Global Governance and Regional Governance (GR).
In this course, faculty members of GR project and guest speakers will have lectures on advanced research in each research field. This course will cover very wide aspects such as disciplines, research methods, approaches and many regions; and such knowledge would be helpful for policy making and finding resolutions of complicated problems.
GR students are strongly recommended to attend, but students from other projects are also welcome.
The aim of this course is to learn the basics and strategies of case study research. This course is designed for those students who would like to conduct researches in the fields of Social Sciences. Students will learn by reading text books and earlier studies, discussion, group work and presentation.Preparation for the lectures and submission of reports are aquired.
The goal of the course are to learn skills of designing case study research, critical reading of research and to improve quality of one's research design.
現代社会は気候変動の緩和と適応、人口の成長と減少、都市の膨張と縮小など、様々な課題を抱えている。私たちはこれらの課題を難問として困るのではなく、人間の考え方、住まい方、暮らし方を変え、社会を新しいパラダイムへ移行させる絶好のチャンスとみなすことができる。本授業はこの大局的視点から地球環境をとらえ、地球温暖化問題の科学基礎を学習する。そして、グローバルかつローカルにおける様々な気候変動の緩和・適応策の事例を取り上げ、個益と公益を兼ね備えた政策と行動パターンを抽出する。このプロセスを通して地球温暖化問題の基礎知識を学習し、それを解決するための学際的な視点を形成する。また、文献サーベイー、課題設定、計画作成の練習を通して、研究に必要なスキルを習得する。
This course is designed to assist students to explore the structure of Japanese Corporate Law. We will mainly focus on the organization of Stock Companies under Japanese Companies Act.
(1)Penal Code specifies requirements in which punishments could be invoked by a state. In general, criminal law lectures are to be organized into its general parts and its specific parts. The general parts discuss about common elements of crimes. The specific parts discuss about specific elements of each crime. Learn the basic ideas of them.
(2)In order to be in touch with the reality of criminal justice, students are requested to view "Alternative Justice Congress"(5 days)(※)In lectures, some prerequisite knowledge is provides.
(3)Let's try
(a)Read a case in a judicial case collection book.
(b)Read documents for prosecutor's indictment.
(c)Try to answer some questions of Civil Servents examinations and National Bar exsaminations. They could be answered by using the basic knowledges gained in this lecture.

Those students whose TOEFL score is below 424 are highly encouraged to take this course as a prerequisite for Project English courses, the placement for which will be made on the basis of TOEFL-ITP which will be administered during the term. The main purpose of this course is to introduce to graduate students in the GR programme basic methodologies in the fields of global governance, international relations (IR) and area studies. The course is to be conducted in Japanese.
High Speed Internet Infrastructure and applications
One of the most frequently used words is "strategy". However, there are cases in which people who are not understanding even from the distinction between strategy and tactics make influential remarks in public places. This course aims to understand the essence of strategic decision making that appears in various fields and to acquire basic ideas useful for problem finding and solving in each area of interest of each student. In addition, we would like to have some useful hints on how to design a system that is preferable from a social point of view in some sense (although it is also a subject of consideration) against such entities that make strategic decision making.
Based on these problem consciousness, we learn the essence of noncooperative game theory which can be applied to each case of individual field such as economy, business, political process, international relations, etc., and also briefly touch on some results of recent experimental economics. In addition, considering why it is difficult to realize desirable policies from a viewpoint of public choice theory, we will examine the theoretical basis on which we make normative judgment with reference to Amartya Sen's normative economics.
The CB course has a variety of research fields. By utilizing this advantage and communicating with professors in the CB course, we hope you to learn various methodology and viewpoints. In this class, professors provide them as omnibus lectures.
