本講義では情報・通信の学習・研究を進めるため有効・必要となる基本原理・理論、研究方法、問題解決法などを講義する。本講義により学生は当該領域の研究を行う際の基本技法・理論を身に着けることができる。
The concept is an important tool to organize thoughts, to communicate between people from different areas, to anchor findings when doing research, and to explain the issue. Students can use concepts as tools to do research or examine a concept for their research.
The course will go over a number of key concepts in social development including Risks, the State, Community, the Individual among others. Case studies are also employed to facilitate the understanding and the use of the concepts.
The students will be required to explore secondary resources to find relevant readings to the selected concepts and present the points taken from the readings for classroom discussions. Key reading assignments will be also provided during the course.
最近よく用いられる言葉の一つに「戦略」がある。しかし戦略（strategy）と戦術（tactics）の区別すら理解できていない人達が、公的な場で影響力のある発言を行っている例が散見される。本科目では、様々な分野に立ち現れる戦略的意思決定の本質を理解し、各履修者の関心領域における問題発見・解決に役立つ基本的なアイデアの習得を目指す。さらに、こうした戦略的意思決定を行う主体を相手に、社会的な観点から何らかの意味で好ましい（これ自体も検討対象だが…）制度をいかに設計するかについても、有益なヒントを得たい。
こうした問題意識に基づき、経済、ビジネス、政治過程、国際関係等といった個別分野の各事例に応用可能な非協力ゲーム理論のエッセンスを学ぶと共に、最近の実験経済学の成果についても簡単に触れる。また公共選択論的な観点から、望ましい政策の実現がなぜ難しいのかについて検討した上で、我々が規範的判断を下すにあたって、その拠って立つ基盤を何に求めたら良いのかについて、A.Senの議論を参考にしつつ総括する予定である。
CBは各教員の専門分野がバラエティ豊かなプログラムであることに特徴がある。大学院生には、このメリットを最大限に活かし複数のCB教員との交流を図ることによって、様々な方法論や考え方を学んでくれることを願っている。そこで概念構築では、オムニバス形式で各教員が自身の研究分野における方法論や考え方を解説する。
Contemporary societies around the world face a broad spectrum of problems, many of them contradictory. Populations are declining in one area, but growing exponentially in another; cities are shrinking in one part of the world, while sprawling slums continue their expansion elsewhere. On top of this the need to adapt and mitigate against the effects of climate change demand particular solutions. Though these issues might seem to be opposites, it is important to recognize that they are not discrete phenomena that can be set against each other. In fact when combined they form a kind of opportunity for creating a new paradigm of human development.
Taking on climate change issues from this perspective the course teaches the fundamental science of mitigating and adapting to climate change with the intent that students will be able to give shape to inter-disciplinary research projects of their own. We are going to extract patterns of policy and actions by reviewing cases and applications of climate change mitigation and adaptation around the world. Through this process students will develop a fundamental knowledge of climate change, as well as learn the essential skills of literature review, identifying research objectives, and writing research proposals.
フィールドワークをめぐる方法論的・認識論的・倫理的な諸問題について考察する。多くのケーススタディを通して、将来の研究・調査活動に役立つプロフェッショナルなフィールドワークリテラシーを涵養することを目標とする。より具体的には、他の調査手法との優劣比較、「フィールド」とは何か、「他者」とは何か、「理解」とは何か、フィールドとの向き合い方、エスノグラフィーの作成、批判的解読、調査のプロトコール、データの公開をめぐるポリティクス、近未来のフィールドワーク像など。
各授業ごとに生命科学の研究現場で活躍する研究者、または、博士課程の学生を講師に向え、研究発表に対する質疑応答を通して、研究者として基本となる考え方や研究方法の基盤を構築することを目的にする。
本授業は、大学院プロジェクトのグローバルガバナンス・リージョナルガバナンス（GR）の最先端の研究を理解することを目的としている。
本講義では大学院GRプロジェクトの担当教員およびゲスト講師が、オムニバス形式の形でそれぞれの研究分野の「最先端」の研究について講義する。 グローバルガバナンス・リージョナルガバナンスのプロジェクトがカバーするディシプリン、研究手法、アプローチ、対象地域は極めて広く、多様であり、複雑な現代を理解する上で、それらを網羅的に理解することは、問題解決への確実な一歩となるはずだ。
GRの学生には強く履修を勧めるが、他のプロジェクトの学生も歓迎する。
本講義の目的は、社会科学における事例研究の方法を身につけることである。本講義は、社会学、経営学等、人や組織、社会を研究対象として論文を執筆する者、事例研究やアクションリサーチを実施する者を対象とする。教科書や研究実践例を元に方法を学ぶと共に、ディスカッションやワーク、発表を通じて各受講者の研究の質を高める。事前課題として、教科書及び参考資料の精読と小レポートの提出を求める。①事例研究の手法を習得すること、②研究を批判的に検証する力を身につけること、③自らの研究・論文の質を高めることを目指す。
講義はCBプログラムの7⼈で担当する。
主担当者である牛山が全体のコーディネーションを⾏い、残りの6⼈の教員がそれぞれ2コマずつ担当し、講義、ワークショップ、グループワークなどを通して、⾃⾝の専⾨領域の先端的な研究を紹介する。
次世代の情報インフラとアプリケーションの研究開発
インターネットに関連した情報システムの研究開発を主な研究テーマとしている。
プロトコル、例えば次世代のコア・プロトコルであるIPv6関連、コンピュータシステム、セキュリティ、分散システムなどの研究開発と、国際標準化等を通して開発した研究成果の世界展開も視野にいれた研究活動をおこなっていく。

「健康行動科学」で身に付けた理論を基盤として、パブリックヘルスの観点から健康増進（ヘルスプロモーション）が必要とされる社会的背景等について理解を深め、より実践的なプログラムを策定・実施するための方法論を習得する。また、運動・スポーツ領域を中心に、種々のセッティングで展開されている具体的な健康増進プログラムの内容や課題について学ぶ。履修者自らが社会へ介入するプログラムを作成できるようになることを目指す。

We will meet twice a week for a total of 4 periods (Koma).
In the 1st period, we will learn TOEFL test taking strategies; focusing mainly on the listening section.
In the 2nd period, we will focus on improving communication skills by taking part in pair work and group discussions, also giving individual and group presentations.

GRプログラム所属の大学院生を主たる対象に、社会科学を基礎とするグローバルガバナンス論、国際政治学、比較政治学・地域研究論等に関係する基礎的な研究方法を学ぶ場を提供することが主目的である。研究の基礎的な方法論に関する講義やワークショップに引き続き、GRプログラム所属の教員を中心とするオムニバス形式の講義を実施。（全て日本語で実施。）
